Periwinkle dress by Bestowed

The Periwinkle dress is a new style in the Bestowed collection #4. I wanted a dress that was a little more covered up on the shoulders but not sleeved. The Periwinkle dress has a 'tank' style shoulder that is almost a cap sleeve.

When designing this dress I made a mock up sample in white jersey. I then put it on and drew in the panel lines, where I wanted the pockets and where I wanted the neckline to sit. After the first sample I decided to make the asymmetrical pockets stand out more and made them in the soft double gauze fabric that the reversible Cordyline top is made in. It was perfect, exactly what I wanted, throw it on, and a knotted necklace and the outfit was complete.

The Periwinkle dress is perfect for tall women as it is a true maxi length. It looks fantastic when you walk because it has lots of flare in the skirt and it flows around your ankles and feet when you walk, very lush feeling.

But this does not mean that it can not be worn by shorter women. The hem is a raw finish and just like the Dita maxi, it can be simply cut off to the desired length. Just measure, mark and chop allowing 2-3 cms for the knit to roll when washed.

The Periwinkle dress comes in two colour ways of our locally milled organic cotton jersey, black/indigo and grape/indigo, both with contrast pockets.

This back view shows the nice V-back which like the front is not too low.

I hope you enjoy this dress as much as I have been.
