Featuring: Cast On Pinni and Hook Skirt
Posted on April 26 2016
I hope everyone had a good weekend! Since you now know about our Japanese knit fabric, I thought I would share some info on our tencel fabric. Our Cast On Pinni and Hook skirts are both made out of this fibre and are two key pieces for YARN.
Tencel is made from natural cellulose found in wood pulp. It is produced through a 'closed loop' solvent spinning process, which has minimum impact on the environment. Tencel production is very economical in its energy and water usage and is fully biodegradable.
Our tencel fabric is know for its drape and soft feel. Because of it's lightweight and comfort it is perfect for dresses and skirts. This is why we made the Cast On Pinni and Hook skirt! The Cast On Pinni is the perfect layering piece. It can be worn simply with an Obsidian singlet underneath, or with a long sleeved Multitude or Tammy top for extra warmth. Even though it is part of the YARN winter collection, Pinni can be worn into the summer months due to its loose cut and lightweight fabric. The Pinni is featured below:
The Hook skirt is also trans-seasonal. It is a great layering piece that can be worn on its own, over tights or knee high boots. Depending on the length desired it can be worn high on the waist or lower on the hips.
The tencel fabric drapes and flows over the body beautifully and makes these YARN pieces stand out from the collection! We hope you enjoy wearing them as much as we do creating them!
