I have not posted here for months, it seems every time I sit down to write something, I end up doing something else! But how could I not do a blog post about the new collection from Rant.
Wild garden is a beautiful botanical print that I feel resembles a wild garden, with assorted colours and flowers, and therefore the theme of the collection is just that, Wild Garden. The print is exclusive to Rant and with the colours in it, I am sure it will match what ever colour you choose to put it with.
There is also an embroidered cotton fabric called Amelia, that comes in black or natural. It looks great as a monotone look or matched with the wild Garden print garments. Above is the Chicory skirt in the Wild Garden print and the Amelia natural coloured cotton. This skirt will be perfect for the warm summer coming up. Match it with the Moonflower top, which was so popular last summer as it sits comfortably loosely away from the body but flattering at the same time as it is bias cut. It has a cap sleeve that gives coverage without being high up under the arms.
The Bubbles fabric is a cute type of broderie anglaise cotton, but not little flowers embroidered but oval shaped 'bubbles' that vary in size. There are two styles available in this fabric, the classic Moonflower top which is bound at the hem and does not have side splits like the other versions, and the Betula tunic. These styles can be worn over anything from simple slips to skirts or pants. The great thing is that you can get a hint of colour coming through, and if you wear the Lila cami or Lila slip you get the nice neckline shape.
More styles will be introduced over the next few weeks. We have pre-washed most of the Wild Garden styles, in fact all of them except the bamboo jersey ones. We do this to pre-shrink and take out any excess dyes etc that are in the fabric when it is being made. I like the feel and look it gives, but the added bonus is that they are ready to wear straight away.
Enjoy this new collection, you can browse by style when viewing the general RANT page.
