behind the Scenes of the RANT Photoshoot this week.•
Posted on March 13 2020
Well after a crazy start to the year, we are doing our first photo shoot. This one is all about our beautiful ruby coloured bamboo which is back by popular demand!
(above, our set up at Fox St Studio)
Our beautiful model for this shoot is Wilhelmina, a model who is returning to the industry after 40 years. I knew I wanted to do a shoot with her as soon as I saw her photo.
I have really enjoyed being able to find more diverse models these days, the industry has changed so much over the 17 years that we have been doing RANT. By having a mix of models it shows my customers that I design for women of all ages. Just because you're older it doesn't mean that you have to dress daggy! When Wilhelmina came to the casting and tried on our clothing, her face lit up. These were the clothes she had been looking for.
So, if you're 30, 50 or 70+ these garments will suit you, they're ageless.
These pics are a few phone pics that we did on the day. The 'real pics' will be ready soon and we will share them online from 20th March when the garments are ready.

The above 2 pics are of Alarna's hair and make up station and one of the looks for the day. Look at Wilhelmina's beautiful blue eyes!
I have a small collection of things I kept from back in the 80's when I worked for a Brisbane store called Stiletto. I never thought I would bring these earrings out again but they matched her eyes so well.
The above pics are of me at work, doing the adjustments and yes, I am wearing slippers. I wear them so I don't mark the floor or in this case the hand painted canvas back drop. Shoot day is always a 'comfy clothes day' as you're there working hard to get things done by in time. I pulled out some reversible pants from a Rant collection 10 years ago. I still have a few of these and still love wearing them. They worked well with the Alana tee from the latest Bestowed collection. I love this tee.
The styling things are set out along a bench so they're easier select.
One of Jay's jobs on photo shoot day is the coffee run as a little caffeine boost is always essential at a shoot. We bring our reusable cups along for everyone and a cup tray we got years ago that keeps on going.
I hope you found this behind the scenes interesting? I look forward to seeing the pics from this day and will share some as soon as I do,
