Here is the 12th Bestowed collection, a pre-summer offering of Organic cotton goodness with a little 'ninja' feel!

These new styles will mix and match with our basics that you probably already have in your wardrobe as we like to promote building a wardrobe of easy to mix and match garments that you enjoy wearing for many purposes. At this time of the year we need to add a few layers to keep toasty warm, these will do that while being cotton and perfect for all seasons.

There is a revisited style from 2013 collection #3, the Almeda top (pictured above and below) with its generous cowl neck and super long sleeves that bunch up at the wrist. It has twisted seams front and back giving an asymmetrical look, also having a longer length at the back which many of our customers like.

It looks good also layered over a Daria or Josie tank top as you get a peak of the top underneath adding to the texture of an outfit.

The Almeda top is great to layer under a Blythe Maxi dress to turn the sleeveless dress into a more cosy style. (see above)

The Joey T-dress is a fantastic one size overdress. It's loose but flattering as it has panel lines down each side at the front. There is a 'joey' pocket centre front that has been borrowed from the Blythe Maxi because this pocket is too good not to have on another dress.

The neckline is a chunky grey marle coloured rib band. I decided to use contrast charcoal stitching on the hem, sleeve hem and pocket stitching to match the contrast neckband.

As you can see from the Joey dress pics above, you can throw this dress over leggings, pants or skirts. I've been wearing mine with a long sleeved top underneath however it can be worn on it's own in the warmer weather too.

The Mellow pants are a super easy fit with a drawcord waist so you can wear them up at the waistline or slouchy and low on the hips. There are side pockets as pockets are essential in this style of pants and the hem has a loose elastic band to pull them in to create a nice line.

The fabric is a Japanese made Indigo dyed cotton. There also is a fine print which adds to the texture and overall look. As you probably know, Indigo dyes are designed to fade gradually and we have given all our Mellow pants a vigorous 60 degree wash and put them in the dryer to 'set' the dye more and wash out any excess.

The Dawn top is available in Olive and Black in limited quantities, sizes XS-M as we only had a small amount of fabric to use. This locally made organic cotton with 4% spandex is lighter than our regular stretch cotton that we use in Josie and Daria styles. It's the same knit we used in the plain black cropped Camille Cardi. We made it in a simple raglan sleeved top with long sleeves and generous length. It can be worn on it's own or layered under sleeveless tops and dresses.

Finally the new belt style the Milli belt which has a handy pocket attached. I make these myself here at the studio and prewash the pockets before attaching them to the belt. This way the raw edges fray and the belt gets it's awesome textured look. I made a generous box pleat in the pocket to accomodate bulky things. The Milli belt is fastened with a metal slider.

I have made some more organic cotton Slouch Beanies again and have made a few in charcoal marle as well. If you have worn your black one so much that you need another colourway, the grey marle is for you and available now.

All the knitted fabrics are certified organic by GOTS certification and are made in Melbourne. All garments are cut and sewn here in Brisbane then prewashed in rainwater here at our studio.

We want to thank you for supporting our locally made business so we can continue to support local production.

Cheers

Sarah
