Bestowed - the 19th collection is now available•
Posted on March 09 2023
I love Autumn and I love the layers that you can wear. A great time to launch a Bestowed collection as organic cotton is a fabric for all seasons.
If you want to read about the creation of this collection and see pics from the photo shoot, you can read it here,
The Robin top is a very different fit to our classic Almeda top which is made totally from organic cotton single knit jersey, a looser fit and far longer silhouette. The Robin top has a more fitted body from our mid weight organic cotton stretch, with the neck piece a contrast Superfine cotton. The superfine cotton neck is so soft to wear and bunches beautifully. If you want to make the Robin top long sleeved you can simply add some organic cotton Snuggle Arms as shown below.
Another 3/4 sleeved offering is the two new colours in the Ester cardi and new stock in all sizes of the black Ester too. The forest green (shown above) looks stunning with the grape. We love greens and know that our customers do too, such a lively colour to wear, the colour of regeneration and growth.
The second new colour in the Ester cardi is the granite option, a soft grey with green overtones. Looks great with many colours, especially the dragonfly colour as shown above. I styled this outfit with the Origin singlet and black Mellow pants which we have in limited sizes and quantity.
We have been asked for our wide leg Ada pants to return, so here is the new version made in a slightly heavier weight Italian made cotton twill fabric. This weight will take you from now through till the cold of winter. In Brisbane and other warmer climates, these will be perfect in winter as well, if you add some knee hi socks underneath.
The Ada pants have sets of ties in the side seams which can be used to tie up one side or both. If you don't want them tied up, just let them hang loose.
I used the decorative selvage on this fabric as a trim, which you can see where the waistband joins the pants. The colouring matches the collection perfectly.
This collection features some accessories that are part of our ongoing zero waste project. Dakotah has been using his sewing skills to create these Revamp scarf/sashes. They are patched together pieces of organic cotton jersey from many past collections. They can be worn in many ways, as a scarf, a sash or head wrap. The 4 colourways are shown below.
As we made Robin tops again, there was an off cut created because the large neck piece. So there are new long Retrieve scarves in indigo and a few black.
There is also a cute little pouch bag, called the Little Les Bag as it was designed for my artist friend Les. She wanted a small bag to carry her phone, keys, credit card and a pocket for her sunglasses so she didn't have to carry a bulky case for them. Also Les wanted the top to close so it was secure, so I have added some 'snappy tape'. The Little Les Bag has a patching detail and comes in black Japanese cotton and the Italian twill fabric that the Ada pants are made from. I was able to cut them from the off cut of the Ada pants, zerowaste.
The organic denim version of the Willow skirt is one of my most favourite Willow skirts ever! The sheen this fabric has is great and being a denim means it will match anything. See the pics below of the Denim Willow skirt with the Robin top and then with the long Archie tank and Ester Cardi, so versatile.
Other tops I included in this collection were the Origin singlets which is such a great basic top, worn in this shoot with the neckline worn higher at the front. It is great under the Swivel top or Ester Cardi (both shown below)
I hope you enjoy this collection and get ideas for new outfits including garments you already have in your wardrobe.
