'Mismatched Twins'
•Posted on August 12 2021
The 16th Bestowed Clothing collection was themed 'Mismatched Twins' and at last we get to share the images from the shoot with you.
The previous journal story shows behind the scenes of the shoot and an insight into the concept, so if you haven't read this, you can HERE.
(below the Bobbi dress in black, coming soon)
All garments on our models are straight from stock, no re-hemming, no adjustments were made, we have shown them exactly how they look on the contrast heights. Amanda is wearing size small and she is 180cm tall, while Heather is wearing size X-small and is 158cm tall, well almost! ha ha!
The Patched Perla top 2021 version incorporates panels of the lino print in either a black base or indigo base, matched with plain indigo sleeves, a black front & back panel and a back panel in our new grey colour granite. There is a small panel at the back of each which I cut using an off cut of the 2019 bestowed print which was the pretty Dichondra plant. It is a great eclectic mix of colours and prints that will be easy to match with pants and skirts. The Patched Perla top is a nice weight and has long sleeves however it's not too heavy to wear in warmer weather. Many of our customers require long sleeves for sun protection and this top is an essential for them. All the fabrics used are Australian made organic cottons, varying slightly in weight.
I have added the Patched Perla top (indigo version) in the above pics over a base of the Josie Tank dress, now available in indigo and the classic Lara 7/8 leggings in an Australian made organic cotton stretch fabric. I love these easy combos because I go to many Reformer Pilates classes a week and wear a Josie tank dress over leggings for my class and then simply add a top layer like the Perla top to then go on with my day.
Below I have added a black Pocket Belt to the base layers which looks cute on both heights. This belt we have had in the collections since 2011, a classic Bestowed essential that can also carry your phone and keys when out and about.
The Josie tank dress is also available in black again in all sizes. I have put it over the Path Leggings below. These super stretchy organic cotton leggings are printed with the Lino print from summer and are now available in a long length (on Amanda) or 7/8 length (on Heather)
The Path leggings and Josie tank dress base layers are under the Patched Joey dress (shown below) which comes in 2 colourway options and is coming in a couple of weeks time. The patched Joey dress is patched together the same way the Patched Perla top is, using our new plain coloured organic cottons with printed panels cut with other styles last summer to use all the fabric, no wastage. This throw over one size dress is awesome and a garment I always reach for, one of those things that make you feel so good when you wear it.
We have two new versions of the Drift pants available. Again I have utilised my stash of beautiful Italian made cotton fabrics that I got a few years ago which are 'mill end' rolls, ones left over from an Italian label. There is a grey marle fabric which actually shrank a little more than usual when prewashed, but worked out perfectly as they were a great length as a full length pant on Heather. I didn't show the Indigo cotton sateen ones on Heather because I needed to shorten them and wanted to only show 'off the rack' options. They of course can be simply shortened to the required length which most shorter people are very used to.
The Drift pants work with any top, any season. Above they're with the superfine cotton Swivel top above and below with the Patched Perla top.
They have 4 different pockets, all from Japanese made yarn dyed cotton striped fabric, a narrow and wider stripe which I played around with some vertical and one horizontal. These pants have a soft cotton drawcord waist which means you can easily adjust them to sit at the waist or low on the hips. They are also a genderless style, Jay loves his pair from the last collection and has grabbed new ones already.
The Bobbi dress which is still being made, will be released in a few weeks time. I have always been asked for a sleeved dress rather than layering a top under the sleeveless dresses, well here it is...
This is an adaptation of our most loved Blythe dress, the shorter midi length. The neckline is slightly lower and it has a 3/4 length sleeve which is good all year round. It can be rolled to a shorter length if needed. The Bobbi dress has an awesome front pocket and nice side flared panels, making it the dress you will always reach for, throw on and go, suiting any occasion. It will be available in black, indigo and granite.
As we are launching this collection a few styles at a time as they are ready, I will save the new colours in the superfine cotton and the new comfy pant style for my next story.
The entire collection is shown over at the BESTOWED Clothing website if you would like to check it out there. We have fun making some cute little moving pics and it gives you a break down of the styles.
I hope you like seeing all the garments on contrast models, it shows that all Bestowed can be worn be people of all heights, it simply looks different.
Cheers,
Sarah
