This collection is all about the gorgeous colour RUBY.
Ruby has had various symbolic meanings throughout history, including a talisman of passion, protection and prosperity.
So feel good and protected in this collection that features lots of tops in our ruby bamboo jersey with new styles of black pants with ruby topstitching and contrast Japanese printed cotton pockets. It's all about easy to wear tops and pants. The kind of clothing that makes getting dressed a pleasure and is super comfy, all day and night.
We couldn't resist making our beloved Dana top in ruby red. Its great for all seasons, on it's own when it's warmer or layered over a singlet top or long sleeved top in cooler weather. Pictured above is the Dana top with the new version of the Helen pants.
Below is a close up of the detail on the new Helen pants. They're made from a great Japanese made stretch cotton fabric with two different Japanese cotton prints as the front pockets. The back panel has been topstitched with red thread in this version to match all our ruby tops or any other colour you wish to wear with them.
The Lynne top (1st pic below) is another style we decided to do in the ruby and we made another run of the Viola tee in ruby which we last made in 2017 (2nd pic below). Both are shown with the new Helen pants.
The fourth style in ruby is a new style, called the Leanne top. This top is a real 80's look, easy wear and super flattering as it's loose over the bust and belly then pulls into a band on the hips which can be adjusted to where you wish it to sit. The band can be rouched or sit flat and I like also giving it a small twist to one side as it then adds drape to the whole top. I am going to do a blog story on how to do this look, so keep an eye out in a week or so.
The Leanne top in ruby is pictured below with our slimline Jana pants.
We have had a heavier weight bamboo jersey knitted for us this season. It's the same fabric as our regular bamboo, made in the same place in Melbourne, simply made more dense which makes great pants. The Fortuna pants in this fabric will be a fav for many people. The waistband is the same as the Thea skirt which sits flat under tops. There are two side pockets which are inserted into the side panels and the legs of the Fortuna are a wide shape. They are a slightly cropped length which works on many heights. Taller people can show off ankle boots or cool socks and shorter people don't have to get them shortened.
Lastly but not least....... is the denim Hilda pants (pictured below). We sourced this denim from South Korea and it's nice and stretchy even though it only has 2% spandex and the rest is cotton. The Hilda pants have our signature fold down waistband made from organic cotton and the pockets front and back are stitched in a contrast red and the edges are raw which fray to a nice texture when we give them the hot prewash in rainwater here at our home studio.
All of these styles are available now.
We know it's an odd time to be releasing a new collection, but still need to make a living and so do our dedicated local makers. I hope you all stay healthy, stay safe and enjoy online shopping. We really appreciate your support.
