'Who Wears the Pants' is the latest RANT Clothing collection.

The inspiration behind this collection is a celebration of strong Women.

Women can be strong without needing to crush Men, both sexes can be equally strong, in fact it works better that way. Some of the names i chose for the styles are because they remind me of a strong woman, either famous or not. It's a collection of pants, styles from our archives and new ones I made myself from tried and tested base shapes.

There are other new tops as well but I will blog about them at a later date, this blog is all about Who Wears the Pants.

The SAMIRA Pants are a classic RANT shape from 2005. The slouchy 'jean' look has all the pocket detail etc that jeans have but these pants have a nice shaped waistband that sits low on the hips and is adjustable due to the raw edged tie belt, so super comfy to wear.

The denim is stretch, so even more comfort ensured and the wide straight leg looks good with most shoes, boots or sandals. They are prewashed when you get them and the Indigo dye will gradually fade with subsequent washes.

These pants above are the NELLIE Pants. They have a fold-over stretch waistband that can be adjusted to where you want them to sit & they have two handy side pockets.

This pic shows the Australian made Merino Wool version (also available in charcoal merino wool) and they are available in our Australian made Bamboo jersey in black and Ink colours. I love this style for traveling in, great to wear on the plane and out to dinner.

The MERYL Pants (above under the wool Coco Top) are made from a 4 way stretch cotton/rayon spandex fabric which is unbelievably comfortable. They sit flat against the body at the top with a neat facing and centre back invisible zipper.

The leg of these pants is loose and slouchy with 4 darts at each knee to add interest and make them an unusual shape. You can go down a size to wear them as a tighter fit, however I designed them to be this shape giving me a more directional pant style in my wardrobe.

The pinstripe fold up cuff at the hem gives you the option to wear them longer as a plain black pant or shorter with the cute contrast detail showing. I think I will always wear mine folded up as I am loving this fabric and want to wear it every day!

The HELEN Pants have a loose wide leg, fold-over comfy stretch cotton jersey waistband and two raw edged big front pockets. This shape was one of the first pant shapes I made when we started RANT back in 2003. This version has slightly different panels and the pockets. The Helen Pants come in 3 totally different fabrications, all being stretch fabrics for comfort. The Pinstripe as shown above, stretch Denim and a lovely plain black Cotton/Tencel/Linen/spandex that has a nice sheen to the surface. The different versions can be seen on this online store.

The JANA Pants are under the Fusion dress in this pic above. They are made from the same 4 way stretch cotton/rayon/spandex fabric as the Meryl pants but this shape takes full advantage of the super stretchy fabric. It's a tight fitting pant with a flat double thickness cotton/spandex waistband to sit extremely flat under the top layers. Each leg has a side pocket situated on the thigh as they are designed to wear under things and not with tops tucked in. Customers who have purchased and lived in the classic Cedar Pants will know this shape, it's just updated to this new fabrication that has no nylon in it (the Cedar pants fabric has 25%)

The leg of the Jana pants is long and slim, can be tucked into boots or bunched a little at the ankle unless you're super tall and in that case, these pants will be perfect on you as is.

The last pant shape in Who Wears the Pants is the Weaver pants.

The Weaver pants are totally awesome, with the big deep front pockets, wide soft elastic waistband with zig zag stitching detail and loose flowy leg shape. They are great all year round and for all occasions. This washed Viscose fabric is one we have run for a while, although our supplier is now discontinued it, so we have limited quantity of it, but some we are holding to do another small run of these.

I am sure you will find a shape that suits your needs in this collection, there are so many outfits to be made when you have great pants to start with.

Cheers

Sarah
