ZERO WASTE Scarves we are doing in 2025
•Posted on August 08 2025

Over the past few years as we have been slowing down and focussing on being as sustainable as possible, we have been busy using bits and pieces from our fabric storage and making use of all the things we have saved for this exact thing.
Scarves have been super popular and are always handy as you can never have too many! Also they make great gifts, light to post, not sized so you always have the 'correct fit' and can be worn in so many ways.

One of the great things about doing these zero waste projects is that it's the perfect opportunity for me to teach my son Dakotah how to create something from start to finish. During the past month or two he has has cut, sewn, washed, checked, snipped and tagged both versions of our patched together scarf/sash styles, the Revamp and Repeat scarves.

The Bestowed version is made from organic cotton jersey pieces and they're called the Revamp, as in the images above and below. The Revamp works perfectly all seasons and is suitable for even the most sensitive skins.

We have another zero waste scarf that we made from the last of our 'superfine' cotton fabric which is also an Australian made fabric we had custom made for us. The Retrieve scarves are a single coloured scarf that is simply the softest fabric ever! I always have one in my handbag just in case, a really handy accessory.

About 10 years ago we did lots of soft floaty tunics and dresses, many from silks and silk/cottons. In July this year we created a new scarf for 2025 from these ends of rolls of this light airy fabric in some beautiful colours. The Suzy scarf is a generous size, from 51-65cm wide and about 195cm long. After these were cut and sewn, I popped them in the washing machine on a 'silk cycle' then air dried them. After washing they become even more light and fluffy, and they have a slight sheen to the surface which makes the colours look even more lush.

Lastly I would like to share the merino scarf made from soft Australian made merino jersey and rib, super warm which we have definitely needed this winter. We made these in the new custom colours from the 'Building Blocks' collection.
The Repeat Scarf/Sash is pictured below.

Thanks for reading about our in-house sustainable projects. And thanks to all of you who support us by purchasing our locally made garments and accessories,
Cheers
Sarah
