This vintage silk petticoat is 100% Australian Made
The Banksii Petticoat is an awesome garment to have in your wardrobe. The slim bias cut main part of the skirt sits against your body then it flutes out at the hem with the 3m long ruffle made from our Vintage silk fabric (from 20 years ago). The ruffle fabric is Silk Dupion and it's decorated with strips of bias cut cotton that is stitched and overlaid in circles. The waist of the Banksii is simply elasticated with 20mm elastic, keeping it smooth under the top layers.
Layering this petticoat skirt under dresses, tunics or longer tops will create a special outfit, especially because the ruffle moves as you walk. We layered it under the matching Synthesis pieces but it looks great also underneath one of the Osmosis long tops, or the Cupro version of the Sunlight top, with or without the Converge Corset, as shown in the images from our photoshoot.
This style is prewashed in rainwater at our home studio.
MADE TO ORDER
This style is limited edition due to the vintage fabric. These can be made to order so we use the precious fabric in the sizes people are wanting. To assist with working out what option will work for you, please read the details below. If you require more assistance please contact us.
The size medium shown here is 96cm from top edge to the hem. The length can vary with bias cut depending on how tight it is. If it's more fitted the fabric will give sideways therefore shortening the overall length. When I put on this size M, it measures a total length of 89cm, 7cm shorter.
The Banksii Petticoat was designed to layer under the Synthesis Skirt or the Synthesis Wrap to complete that statement look for a special occasion. If you purchase the Banksii with either of the Synthesis pieces a 10% discount will be applied automatically to both items at the checkout.
FABRIC
Main, 100% Supima cotton, fabric made in Japan.
Ruffle, vintage silk with cotton bias decoration.
CARE
Handwash cold water with eco-friendly detergent and air dry in shade. No pressing should be required as the texture of the ruffle is a feature.

FIT
Designed to be a layering piece and it's bias cut, so a slim fit but not tight.
I am offering the Banksii Petticoat in S/M/L in two length options, the longer one as shown here, approx 89cm from waist to hem when on a body, or 10cm shorter which should end up approx 79cm total length. I have made a chart below as a guide.

Our model Zhoe is 175cm tall and wears size medium to be slightly more generous.
Shipping
Orders are dispatched Monday to Thursday with a cutoff time of 11am (Brisbane time). All parcels require a signature on delivery. Please ensure your delivery address is suitable for receiving your order during business hours.
SHIPPING RATES
FREE SHIPPING applies for all orders greater than $200.
FLATE RATE shipping applies for other orders of $9.95 or $15 if you would like Express shipping.
LOCAL PICKUP
If you live locally and would like to pickup your order, use the code 'studiopickup' at the checkout to remove any shipping charges. We will contact you to confirm your order and organise a suitable pickup time.
SPECIAL REQUESTS
We are more than happy to accommodate any special requests for deliveries. For example if you have a safe place you wish your parcel to be left without a signature, include this in the notes section of the shopping cart (we are not responsible for any lost items though). You are able to enter a business address during the checkout process for delivery also.
GIFTS
We do have the option to purchase gift vouchers for your friends & family. A code will automatically be emailed to you and you can request a PDF to print that we will email separately, just request this in the notes section. Please note we are also happy to include a handwritten note with a purchase if you wish to send a present directly to someone special. Again include any details as a note and we will get in touch if there are any questions (don't worry we will not include a copy of the invoice with any gifts sent).
TRACKING
Parcels are delivered using Australia Post and tracking details will be emailed to you.
WORLDWIDE DELIVERIES
We no longer deliver parcels outside of Australia.

Returns
We are happy for you to return items for a refund or exchange. To organise a return, items must be unused and in original condition, so all tags must still be attached. Please take care when trying clothes on to ensure no pet hair or strong smells are present also.
COMPLETING YOUR RETURN
To complete your return, simply email us (contact@sustainablefashion.com.au) with details of your request and send your items to: Sustainable Fashion, 4 Warralong St, The Gap, QLD 4061 AUSTRALIA. Once your return is received, we will email you with a response.
FREE EXCHANGE
While you will need to organise your own shipping of the return item, to simply exchange for a different size we will send the first exchange free of charge.
We can also exchange for a different item if you like. Any difference will be refunded or if further payment is required we will simply send through an order to complete to pay for the difference.
REFUNDS
Shipping costs are non-refundable, but of course if an item is found to be faulty on return, all postage costs will be refunded. Refunds will be processed using the original payment method.SENDING YOUR RETURN
We recommend using registered post when sending items back as we are not responsible for any lost items during transit.
Our policy lasts 14 days from the date you receive your order.
